Fitbit and Signed One Simple Change Giveaway!

I am a big fan of both intentional exercise and NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis). I believe daily movement contributes to good health, and I think a device such as the Fitbit can encourage you to be more active.

To thank all of you for being my readers, I’m going to give one of you a Fitbit!

Fitbit Giveaway | Healthy Green Kitchen

The Fitbit is a wireless activity tracker. It monitors things like how many steps you take and how many calories you burn. It also lets you know how much you sleep and it can function as an alarm in the morning. You may synch your Fitbit with your computer or your smartphone and use an app to log your food intake in order to aid the process of weight loss or weight maintenance.

I was going to give away the newest Fitbit model, the Fitbit Force, but Amazon.com doesn’t have them in stock right now. So instead, you can choose between a Fitbit One and a Fitbit Flex. The Fitbit One has received better reviews. You wear it in your pocket, on a belt, or in your bra (only problem is I’ve heard it’s pretty easy to lose); the Flex can be worn on your wrist. If you win, you can choose whichever one you prefer.

I will also send the winner a signed copy of my soon-to-be-released book One Simple Change: Surprisingly Easy Ways to Transform Your Life! The book will be available for shipping on December 3, 2013 but I have a copy right here I’ll be sending to the winner before that…you’ll be one of the first to see the book :)

This giveaway is sponsored by ME. I am paying for the Fitbit and the shipping as a way to thank to you all for reading my blog. The total value of this package including the shipping is a little over $100. Note that his giveaway is only open to my readers in the USA. Also note that If you win and you really prefer to wait for the Fitbit Force, I will send you a $100 Amazon.com gift card that you can put toward one. If you already have a Fitbit and you win, I can either send you another one (for you to give away to someone you love), or I can send you a $100 Amazon.com gift card. Your choice.

  5. Hi there. I’ve recently become more committed to exercise–of both the intentional, going-to-the-Y variety and the type that simply requires integrating more physical activity into my regular routine. A fitbit would be a great way for me to stay motivated in both endeavors.

(P.S. Although I’ve not commented here before, I really appreciate your “all things in moderation” approach and have tried several of your recipes. Thanks for a great, sensible site.)

Unfortunately there is sometimes a disconnect between knowing what I should do and actually doing it. A product like the Fitbit looks like a great tool to help with that disconnect. Thank you so much for your generosity!

It also measures activity more accurately than the free pedometer app I have on my phone, and will catch more of the steps involved in my job (walking back and forth when lecturing and teaching labs). Offering one to your readers is really sweet of you.
