Cookie Craft Giveaway

I was going to post my recipe for the gluten free ginger bars I made for the cookie swap today, but somehow I have misplaced the post-it note on which it was written. I am hoping to find it (I’ll be honest here- don’t hold your breath)…if not, I’ll be remaking the recipe and I promise to share it soon.

Forgive me for screwing that up…allow me to make it up to you with a little giveaway :)

This giveaway is for a lovely book called Cookie Craft: From Baking to Luster Dust, Designs and Techniques for Creative Cookie Occasions.

{Now just in case you are thinking you’d like to have me publicly flogged for all this talk of cookies on what is supposed to be a healthy recipes blog, get over it. It’s the holidays. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a cookie or two (or ahem, three) here and there- just don’t go way overboard and make sure to eat lots of the good stuff, like salads and protein, to balance out the not-so-good carbs and the sugar.}

So here’s the deal with the book. I gave it to my mom one year ago for Hanukah and she has been making the most beautiful and delicious cookies ever since; we got together last week so she could give me a lesson in “Cookie Decorating 101” inspired by the book. Honestly I’ve never done any “real” cookie decorating before (like where the words “piping”, “flooding”, etc. come into play)…we had such a great time!

I had such fun that I ordered my own copy of the book, but then it occurred to me that I can borrow my mom’s anytime…I’d rather give the brand new copy to one of you!

All you have to do to enter the Cookie Craft giveaway is leave a comment below. Feel free to share the giveaway on twitter or facebook, too…not necessary, but always appreciated, and if you do you’ll get another entry if you leave an additional comment letting me know. This giveaway will close tomorrow (Friday 12/17/10) at midnight and I’ll pick a winner using random.org early Saturday morning. Provided I can get in touch with the winner right away and get your address, I’ll ship the book out to you no later than Monday morning. I’ll even ship it Priority Mail so you’ll be sure to get it in time for Christmas.

Good luck!
