Bear With Me

I am pretty sure June 2012 will go down in my own personal record books as one of the busiest months I’ve ever experienced. The craziness kicked off last Sunday with a 4.5 hour drive up to King Arthur Flour‘s headquarters in Norwich, Vermont where I participated in the 2nd annual 3 day long “Blog and Bake” event. It was an absolute blast and I will be posting my photos and telling you all about it next week.

I’ve been back home for three days, and I’ve baked these, these, and these for school parties and a bake sale. I’ve also chaperoned 2 Hebrew School parties, attended Dylan’s Middle School band concert, and tonight, his Middle School talent show (he played trumpet in the school band and guitar for the talent show). Then early tomorrow morning, I am driving 3.5 hours up to Cornell for my 20th college reunion…I am both nervous and excited about seeing everyone there.

Oh and did I mention Dylan’s Bar Mitzvah is in two weeks? And that we’re having a huge party here afterwards? Yes, I think I mentioned that last week. Eeek.

So to make a long story short, I’m writing to let you know that I can’t post for One Simple Change today. I did work on a post during all my free moments these past couple of days, but I didn’t finish it; I chose kind of a tough topic this week and I just need more time. I will try to get it posted by Sunday evening after I return from the reunion, though, so please bear with me.

  2. I hope no one minded too much, because it was great to see you at reunion! Have you ever made homemade hummus? I searched your archives and didn’t find anything. I regularly buy hummus, but it’s expensive and I’d rather make my own so that I can control the ingredients as well.

    • Hi Beth! I make homemade hummus all the time but you are correct…I’ve never posted a recipe :) I will have to change that very soon. Great to see you this weekend…sorry it was too brief!

  5. Winnie, you sound like your schedule is full! I agree with Kristy, taking time for yourself is a healthy act in itself. Have a wonderful time at your reunion! It was such a joy to have the chance to catch up with you again in Vermont. Hopefully we’ll see each other again soon at another blogging event. :)

  6. No worries! In fact, you’re kind of sending a message that it’s okay to let one or two things go once in awhile instead of making yourself crazy. And that’s a simple change that we should all make :-)
