Our Philosophy
My goal is to provide you with some solid vegan recipes using whole ingredients that are seasonally sourced and easy to prepare. I know the feeling of not having enough time to cook a nutritious meal, while having the desire to eat real food and not rely on convenience meals, and that’s why all my recipes are approachable and use easy to find ingredients.
Becoming a vegan has opened my eyes to so many things, and just by the way we eat and the products we choose to purchase, we can help improve so many things in the world.
I want to use this blog to help make a difference in whatever way I can. While I don’t think any cause is “better” than another one, some things I am passionate about supporting are the following:
- Supporting the local community
- Supporting the homeless
- Sustainability
- The environment
- Adoption
As Lauren Caris Cooks continues to grow, I will be working on contributing to these causes so that our community here is all about giving back as well as enjoying what this site has to give.

A little about me
In 2014 I moved from London to Switzerland, and I began to adjust to a whole new culture where grocery stores are not infinitely stocked with all the produce you can imagine. I’m learning to cook with what’s available at the time, which means the majority of my recipes are developed with seasonal ingredients.
In 2016, I made the switch from vegetarian, to vegan. Having run a vegetarian food blog for a year and a half, most people thought I was crazy. But ultimately, this decision meant more to me than the recipes on my blog so far. I spent a good few months thoroughly researching what on earth veganism really is, as well as how to be a healthy vegan.
