Earlier this week, I was waste deep in a big pile of technology doo-doo. I will not bore you with the nitty-gritty, but it sucked up a lot of my time. I’m also currently taking an online food writing class AND a food photography class: this has mean some challenging, but rewarding homework assignments. Then yesterday was gorgeous so I chose to spend most of it outside: I prepped my garden for spring planting, cleaned the chicken coop, and spent some time with the girls.

Why am I telling you all of this? I guess it is my way of saying I haven’t had a chance to cook/photograph anything exciting for the blog this week, and I also didn’t have time to write a One Simple Change post for today. I know I promised it would be a weekly series, but I’m being kind to myself and letting myself of the hook this week. I hope that’s cool with you (hey, if you’re new to the series, you can go get caught up!), and please check out the following links from around the blogosphere that have inspired me lately.

After watching the Ripe Cookbook video trailer I am swooning with anticipation for this book by one of my favorite writers: Cheryl Sternman Rule. ps the photography, by Paulette Philpot, looks amazing.

Guilty Kitchen’s words ring so true. I’ve read this post over and over.

Heidi’s Morocco photos have me itching to travel.

Carol’s market photos make me think about moving to California.

I am in love with Nicole’s Welcoming Spring photos.

Melissa Clark’s (very organized!) spices are pretty awesome.

This post of Brian’s is so, so brave. Soup looks tasty, too.

Change is scary, but I know things will work out for uber-talented Mike.

Kelsey’s Bok Choy Noodle Bowl looks terrific…though I could just as easily have chosen any one of her other posts…they’re all incredible.

Kamran’s chocolate cupcakes and his news just make me happy.

Seeing my pal Gail’s St. Paddy’s Day cookies over at Real Simple also makes me very happy.

Alices’s cookbook announcement with sweet words of thanks to her dear mom is just lovely.

I am always impressed by Mardi and what she cooks up with the kiddos in her Les Petits Chefs Cooking Club.

And last but not least: I discovered a beautiful blog this week called Extra Relish thanks to a tweet from the also beautiful blog: Fresh New England.

I will be back with a new recipe on Monday :)
