Imprint Comfort Mat Review and Giveaway

The winner of the signed Gluten Free Recipes for the Conscious Cook giveaway was Ashley. Thanks to everyone who entered, and to author Leslie Cerier for donating the book! I’ve got another giveaway to tell you about today…it’s a good one, so read below for details.

The Sublime Company recently sent me an Imprint Comfort Mat for review. I was under no obligation to say nice things about the mat.

imprint comfort matImprint Mats are anti-fatigue floor mats you can keep anywhere that you stand for long periods of time.

Some people might find them useful in the laundry room or the bathroom, but my mat went right in front of my stove, the spot in my kitchen where I spend the most time standing.

I have to say I just love it. The mat is very attractive and well-made, plus it’s anti-microbial, completely non-toxic and eco-friendly. But most of all, it’s an absolute joy to stand on! I’d love to have a few more for the other areas of my kitchen (especially in front of the sink).

Studies have shown that the Imprint Comfort Mat reduces fatigue from standing on hard surfaces, helps relieve lower back pain related to standing for long periods, and supports the arches of the feet (which helps to alleviate discomfort from plantar fasciitis).

Because I spend so much time in my kitchen, I’ve looked into mats like this before. I’ve always found them to be pretty expensive, and this kept me from buying one. Imprint Mats on the other hand, are quite reasonably priced. The one I reviewed sells for $69.99, a really good deal.

The great news for you is this: the Sublime Co. will give one lucky Healthy Green Kitchen reader their very own Imprint Mat for free! Entering the giveaway is simple: here’s what you have to do…

1. Leave a comment below letting me know where you’ll put your Imprint Mat if you win, and why.

2. For a second entry, “Like” The Sublime Co. on Facebook, and leave them a little note if you can. Hey, while you’re at it, you might as well like Healthy Green Kitchen, too! Then come back and leave a comment letting me know that you did.

3. For a third entry, post about this giveaway on Twitter using the following tweet (don’t include the quotes): “@drwinnie of Healthy Green Kitchen is giving away an eco-friendly Imprint Comfort Mat: http://su.pr/1CVdrL “. Then come back and leave a comment letting my know you did.

This giveaway ends Monday, August 16th 2010 at midnight (EST) and is only open to US residents. Winner will be chosen using random.org…thanks for entering and good luck!

Wow! I’ve been looking at a “comfort mat” for a while and know that I should get at least one, if not two! I spend soooooo much time in the kitchen because I love to cook and it is my therapy. This mat would be great! Thanks for a great giveaway opportunity, Winnie!

This is just what I need! :) I bet it would look great in my new apartment in VA! I think it would go right in front of the sink. Dishes are my least favorite job, so you might as well stand on something nice. I tweeted to let others know :)

In my kitchen – I have a corner spot at my kitchen sink/counter that I spend a lot of time washing dishes and chopping vegetables. It would be perfect!

I would put the mat in front of the counter where I do all my food prep. It is just to the right of the stove and sink. Where I do most everything in my kitchen. What a pleasure to participate in this giveaway, thank you very much!

no question here…this baby is going by the sink. we dont have a dishwasher and i am afraid to calculate the hours per week we spend tirelessly standing in front of the sink. my knees ache so badly afterward…i hope this would help!

we don’t have a dishwasher, but love cooking…this means hours a week washing dishes. my knees ache so much at the end of the day…i wonder if this mat would help?

Taylor and I were just discussing getting something like this for our kitchen… especially now that we’ve started canning things, our hard wood floors (while pretty) take their toll on our poor feet. Crossing my fingers for this one! :)

I have been looking for an anti-fatigue mat and an eco-friendly one too is excellent.
I will put it at my massage table where I spend several hours standing each day.

As a high school teacher I spend a fair amount of time standing in the front of the whiteboard. I can only imagine how this mat will help with the strain from standing on concrete all day long. The eco-friendly nature of this mat is a benefit to me as well because the mat will be scrutinized by all the students in my room who have ideals!

I see it in my busiest food prep area of the kitchen. I’m healing up from multiple varicose vein removals. And standing has been a “longstanding” source of discomfort.

    Elizabeth — August 10, 2010 @ 2:20 pm

I would have two! One at the washer and dryer; and another at the kitchen sink.

  21. 21

    Elizabeth — August 10, 2010 @ 2:23 pm

regarding comment above; I spend a lot of time at these two places, kitchen sink and laundry, and although standing is better for your back than sitting, having the mats for feet and knees would be heavenly!!

I would put that lovely mat right in front of the island I use for kneading dough and rolling out pastry. Thanks for showcasing this!

Oh wow! I can not tell you how badly I need one of these. If I were to win, I would place it right in front of my prep counter. I am forever standing there in front of the chopping board, chopping veggies, fruit and meat. I also decorate baked goods and do all my prep at this one counter. Sometime my feet, legs and back start hurting so badly that it brings me to tears and I will have to go sit for awhile.

I spend most of my day in the kitchen, my lap top lives on the kitchen counter, and most of my recipes live in my lap top ;) So I spend a lot of time standing in the same spot, close enough to see the lap top while I prep meals. It would wonderful to make standing for long periods more comfortable…although my husband may worry that I will never leave the kitchen ;p

An Imprint Confort Mat would make a great addition to my kitchen (by the sink) since I’m always cooking an preparing food….but I have a feeling my 145lb Mastiff would also find it cozy to sleep on!

    Jennifer — August 12, 2010 @ 11:52 am

I’d love to have one in front of my kitchen sink. Not only do I spend a lot of time there (washing dishes…joy), my cat also likes to hang out there, and her claws catch on the rug that’s currently there.
